Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared in 1531 to San Juan Deigo a simple Indian man. From the time of Our Lady's appearance until the death of San Juan in 1548 (17 years) almost 10 million Aztec indians converted to the Catholic Faith. Our Lady was successful in uniting the indians and Spaniards as well as ending human sacrifice for good. Her miraculous image which is on San Juan's tilma in can still be seen in Mexico City today at one of the largest shrines in the world.
